Although I love trying out new haircare products, Shea Moisture is a brand I always come back to. All of their products are natural, organic and sustainably-produced. No harsh chemicals are used in any of their formulas, just pure, safe ingredients that your hair will love. I’ve been using the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus collection for a while now and I’ve really enjoyed using it. Here’s why:
The Curl and Shine Shampoo gently cleanses the hair without stripping it of its natural oils. It contains Silk Protein to smooth and soften the hair, Neem Oil to add shine and repair the hair, Coconut Oil to add intense hydration and Hibiscus Flower to improve hair elasticity and reduce the occurrence of breakages and split ends. This sulphate-free shampoo has a light scent that smells so lovely! After I’ve washed this out, my hair is left looking and feeling so soft and silky smooth.
After using the shampoo, I apply Shea Moisture’s Curl and Shine Conditioner. This product softens and detangles dry, frizzy hair whilst adding intense moisture and shine. It contains the same key ingredients as the shampoo to help nourish and protect your locks. To use this conditioner, I apply a generous amount to my hair and comb it through. After leaving it in for a few minutes, I then rinse it out. I find that this makes detangling my hair so much easier. I really like how soft, shiny and easy to manage my hair is after using this product. This is quite a lightweight conditioner, so it would be ideal for hair that gets weighed down easily.
The Curl Enhancing Smoothie is a thick styling cream designed to moisturise and define curly hair. Again, it contains Coconut Oil, Neem Oil and Silk Protein to really nourish the hair. I find that it’s amazing at keeping the hair hydrated and soft. In addition, it’s great at defining curls and reducing frizz. At the moment, I like to do a lot of twist-outs and braid-outs on my hair and find that this works really well for that. I love how it makes my curls pop!
Lastly, I’ve been using the Curl and Shine Style Milk. I would say that this is pretty similar to the Curl Enhancing Smoothie; however, it’s a lot more lightweight. For that reason, the Style Milk is perfect to use as an everyday moisturiser. I apply it to my hair when it’s in need of a little moisture boost and it makes my hair really soft, shiny, and bouncy.
Overall, I’m very impressed with the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus collection and would recommend it to anyone with thick, curly hair. I’ve been using these products ever since I first started transitioning my hair from relaxed to natural and they’ve worked so well.
